How long does detailing
take?

The first time you have your car professionally detailed (paint correction not included), it can take anywhere from two to eight hours. After the initial session, maintenance details will take less time, often under two hours. The total time depends on the car's size, its current condition, and the specific services requested.
What products are needed?
It's best to use products specifically designed for automotive surfaces to avoid damage from harsh household chemicals like dish soap. You will need products for washing, polishing, and protecting. Examples include pH-balanced car wash soap, clay bars for decontamination, polishing compounds, and various forms of protection like wax or ceramic coatings.
Can detailing remove deep scratches?

Should I detail my brand-new car?
Yes, it's often recommended because new cars can have paint imperfections like swirls and scratches from the factory or dealership. Just because your vehicle is new does not necessarily mean the paint finish is flawless. Often times when a vehicle leaves the factory there are many paint imperfections that are missed by quality control personnel. Some of these imperfections are dirt specks, run lines or orange peel, and most often surface scratches and swirl marks from improper washing techniques by inexperience lot attendants at the dealership. Ideally before you take delivery ask them not to wash your vehicle.
Here is how our new car detailing service works. Just schedule an appointment for an exterior hand wash. First, we will gently wash your vehicle, then we will put it under our lights and start our quality control inspection. If any paint imperfections are found, we will give you an onsite estimate for our paint correction service. If not, then you will be on your way with our maintenance recommendation for your vehicle.

When is the most critical time to get my vehicle detailed?
The most critical time to get your vehicle detailed is during the winter’s months. This is due to the rapid changes in temperature, road construction, salt, magnesium chloride and other contaminants that are especially harmful to the exposed surfaces of your vehicle. You can rationalize it away, but your only defense is a properly applied sealant which makes it easier to wash off the contaminants.

What should I do to prepare my vehicle before bringing it in for a service?
Please make sure your vehicle has sufficient gas. If your car is electric, please charge it fully before dropping it off. The heater and air conditioning systems of your vehicle are utilized to dry the carpets after the hot water extraction process, so the engine must be running.
Also, you can remove all personal items from inside the vehicle. This will save us time, and it is less unlikely that your items will be lost during the cleaning process. But, if you do not have the time, all personal items will be placed in a storage bin and immediately replaced. Items in the glove box and center console will be removed also and immediately replaced.
Are you insured for damages caused by you or your equipment?
Drip AutoSalon is fully insured for any damages caused by its workmanship and/or cleaning materials and equipment. Our cleaning materials are Eco Friendly and we are extremely careful with our customer’s property.
A pre-cleaning inspection of the entire vehicle is performed which highlights any pre-existing problem areas (i.e. tears; worn areas, stains which have discolored fabrics, leather or vinyl dents, scratches, cracked or damaged glass.) The inspection form is reviewed and signed by the customer before he/she leaves our premises.

What cannot be fixed by paint correction?
Paint corrections may not fix every problem with the paint on your vehicle. Stone chips and dents will not be fixed. The car’s body panels will not change color as a result of fixing paintwork that isn’t matching.
In addition, full paint correction cannot fix scratches and gouges that are extremely deep. Body shops handle these things.
What does "step 1, 2, 3" mean regarding paint correction?
The full paint correction process can be divided into multiple steps based primarily on the amount of damage to the coating.
Step 1:
There is no need to explain this one. A pad and a cutting compound (or liquid polish) are used for the single-step polishing process. Small marring and swirl marks are removed with a single-stage paint correction.
Step 2:
For this step, you will use two different pad combinations and polishes. In most cases, it begins by polishing the surface with a coarser compound, then progressing to a finer compound to remove any scratches left by the first step.
Step 3:
If you reach this point, it is wise to research carefully and perhaps consult with a professional. There are three steps involved in this program, which are for cars with heavy swirl marks, marring, or other defects.
A machine polisher, along with a polishing pad, is used in the first step to dig through the paint damage. As the grit decreases, the second step gradually smoothes out the damage, followed by a light polishing compound.

Do you charge a deposit?
Yes! A 20% deposit is required upon making an appointment. The reason why we ask for a deposit is that some customers make appointments and do not show which results in lost revenue and/or potential customers. The deposit is subtracted from the grand total of services rendered.
Are walk-ins accepted?
In order to better serve our customers, and to allocate the right amount of time needed on making every detail PERFECT, we do not accept walk-ins. It is very rare we accept walk-ins or same day appointments.
